I have been buying Regan Organic Chicken since they began selling in Enniscorthy Farmers Market – it is seriously the best chicken you will ever taste. I love that it is reared free range on all organic feed just a few kilometres up the road from me.
When Mary Regan asked me to help her (her two sisters Helen and Ger and her husband David work in the business too) with her brand and marketing strategy, I was really delighted.
Developing a strategy for the brand centred around the fact that the chickens produced had the most natural life possible. I wanted to ensure that the marketing had as much integrity as the Regans themselves have in their farming. For the graphics, I wanted a very natural and beautiful look that would evoke the life of the chickens, poking around in the ditches of Wexford. I did a bit of research and found a wonderful botanical watercolour artist based in Wexford – Anne McLeod (www.annemcleod.org) – and commissioned a painting depicting the wild plants commonly found in Wexford ditches.
The work done was absolutely perfect. Graphic designer Mandy D’Alton (fleurcreative.ie ) took the elements of the painting and used them to create the brand graphics.

The strapline I developed is a rallying call for Regan Organic Farm’s target market to do practical things to make positive changes for the benefit of our planet – “Small Changes, Big Difference, Better World”. I recommended incorporating the Irish language to highlight Regan Organic Farm’s Irishness and authenticity.
The value of investing the money, time and effort into creating these unique brand assets can be seen in how they have been used to great effect on Regan Organic Farm’s website, vans and labels.
I love spotting the Regan Organic Farm van on the road – it stands out so well and says everything it needs to about this wonderful brand and business.
Please do yourself a favour and buy some fantastic organic poultry, meat, milk or veg from these lovely people – you will not regret it – reganorganicfarm.ie/
